Burr Copper Ring

There are days when your hands feel like they belong to someone older than you are and days when they feel like yours again. I made this ring for the second kind of day.

The band is engraved by hand, every line of the scrollwork cut slowly with tools I’ve had for decades, and I set two magnetic points into the copper the old way seated, no rush.

People who work with their hands have worn copper for a long time; I’ve never felt the need to explain more than that.

This is one of the last rings I’ll make before I close my workshop for good. I hope it finds hands that will use it well.
